This bright whimsical scarf again includes a variety of sea life, bright pinks, reds, fuchsia, and orange with complementary sea life in shades of blue with a green accent border. The center of the scarf features a Starfish or Sea Star as they are commonly known. There are about 1,500 species of Sea Stars in the class Asteroidea of the phylum Echinodermata. They are in the same family with sea urchins, sand dollars, sea cucumbers, sea lilies, and brittle stars. Underneath each of the five or more arm are hundreds of tiny suction cup feet that the starfish uses to propel itself. At the end of each arm is an orange eyespot. The starfish cannot see but uses its eyespot to sense light and dark. Should the Sea Star lose one or more of its arms, it is capable of regenerating new ones. We find them by the hundreds along our beaches. Most of the time, the Sea Stars are still alive, so we return them to the water. Hopefully, this scarf will brighten your day and remind you of that special day at the beach.
This scarf is delivered in our deluxe gift box, signed by the artist, and includes an insert with our Eden Shell story.
